Edinburgh Little League hosted Scottish Junior Baseball Series on Sunday 8th June

Edinburgh Little League were proud to host the first Scottish Junior Baseball Series of 2014 on Sunday the 8th of June. The series saw three games played between the host Edinburgh Little Devils, the Dalriada Demons and the International School of Aberdeen in terrific spirit on a sunny day in the Capital.

The ISA team (2-0) won the series going undefeated in their two games whilst Dalriada (1-1) would defeat Edinburgh (0-2) in the opening game to secure second spot.

It was a terrific day's baseball and hopefully the first of many in the months ahead for the three clubs...

The Edinburgh Little League's All Stars travelled to Glasgow for a challenge match with the Dalriada Demons juniors on Sunday the 29th of September and defeated the battling hosts on a beautiful day in Glasgow at the Tollcross Leisure Centre, a major venue at the upcoming 2014 Commonwealth Games. The 'Little Devils' struck early, putting up a big 1st inning keyed by a grand slam from Tom Brough. The Demons responded themselves in the bottom of the 1st and the next couple of innings were tight for both teams before another slam, this time from Jabe Spence, took Edinburgh further ahead in the 4th. Edinburgh's deep pitching kept things in check until the 6th inning when Dalriada responded with 5 runs before the end of the game.

The match was a terrific affair, played in great spirit by both teams in front of two sets of enthusiastic supporters. This will hopefully be the first of many between the clubs and the hope is to get another return fixture in before the end of the season.

Edinburgh Little League would like to express its thanks to Karen and Jim from Dalriada for all the work in staging the game and the GBA for their help as hosts and looks forward returning the favour to the Demons in the coming weeks....
